Description

The operations division of this top engineering firm is expanding and as such they are recruiting a Plant Manager / Environmental Engineer to assist in the management of operations of a portfolio of existing projects in the North West, and to support the ongoing growth of the division. The role offers significant potential for rapid personal growth and development. This role may suit an Environmental Engineer looking to work within the water or waste water sector, agricultural, environmental consulting and contracting sector or the waste sector. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Operations. • Liaise with Plant Operatives, clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, monitor projects budgets and programmes, • Operations supervision and management, management of operatives and sub-contractors. • Environmental monitoring (e.g. sampling, analysis and report preparation. • Site supervision of operatives to complete off site works. • Problem solving and working off own initative. Technical. • Environmental planning and reporting. • Keeping on top of planned maintenance and have the ability to deal with breakdowns on the treatment plants. • Devising method statements and risk assessments for site works. Business Development. • Meeting and developing opportunities with new prospects and existing clients, • Furthering relationships with existing clients. R&D. • Research and support new initiatives to maintain the company's position as an innovator and a forward thinker in the industry. Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience Required: • Strong engineering (civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical) science, agricultural or environmental primary degree. • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the engineering, environmental science, waste industry an advantage. • Good report writing skills, proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. • Experience in managing plant and equipment beneficial. • Experience using Autocad and Arc GIS beneficial. • Ability to quickly understand the technical and operational issues facing the Environmental Services Sector. • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships within the existing team and amongst clients. • Strong drive, self-starter and ambition to take the role to the next level.
